that has two purposes...a front diff shield, and a shovel! Had one on a similar cruiser I purchased years back. The high steer solved it back then as it might have to again. I may have the piece in storage if you are looking for a replacement when you bend that one. Mine was almost as stupid as that one is!
I actually drove it like that for a few trips. Funny stuff!

I've witnessed stuff like that work...I've also seen it fail.
