I've got a 88 club wagon with an aftermarket OD that's gone bad. Without it, it turns 2900 RPM at 60 MPH, which is crazy to make a 460 do. I'm looking for a low cost replacement rear-end to bring the RPMs down to a reasonable 2000. Any suggestions?

Whay tranny do you have? If you want to know what gear you are running, crawl underneath and look at the numbers on the axle tag that is bolted to your differential cover.

You think thats bad my 390 is pullin around 4900 RPM at 60 lol. It shouldent be to hard to find a good rear for the truck those years are everywhere in the yards around here.

sounds like you're running a 4.10 rear with a c6 or other not OD tranny. so just check around for a 3.55 geared rear from under the same vehicle and should bring you down for hwy crusing.
