Does ford have any 8 lug rears that are dana 44? or are they all dana 60?

dana 60, dana 70, or sterling 10.25

your gonna have to bite the bullet and get a 3/4 or 1 ton rear end to match your 3/4 ton front.

edit: it looks like you plan on running 37's so you want an axle bigger then a dana 44 any way

Go ahead and build ya' a Corporate 14 Bolt 10.5" with a spool or locker, and don't forget those disc brakes. You won't be sorry.I'm a die-Hard Ford Man , but the corporate 14 bolt is a very tough axle.Got one under the rear of My hacked up '77 F-150 along with a Dana 60 HD Leaf sprung front.Just wondered why it took me so long to get rid of the 9" and Dana 44.

you cant easily convet the front to 5 lug using half ton shit so you will have matching bolt patterns but i woud just get a one ton rear like a 60,70 or 14b like was mentioned.

I am not converting my front I love the front In the back I have a dana 44 with gears and detroit locker I hate to just give that up thats why I would like to get a 8 lug rear that is a dana 44 that way I can take the gears out of that and put them in my new 8 lug axle.

I'm facing this same problem with a 9". I think I'm gonna get some custom axle shafts with 8 lug flanges. 14 bolts have horrible clearance and weigh a lot more than your D44. Another option is adapting spacers. They run about $200 for a pair on ebay.

there is a guy on ebay that sells 4 for 140 and will put a life time warranty on them they are asome I am running some right now 2in. They are asome but the only thing is i cant convert to 8 lug

how wide do you want these axles? you said you have 2" spacers now so your 4" wider then stock correct? Stock is about 60" so you would be perfect if you found a cab and chassis 14 bolt (came in trucks that were sold with no bed, meant for aftermarket utility bed or box) which is about 64", gear it and lock it and you will be perfect.

You can sell your custom rear dana 44 for more then enough money to build a cab and chassis axle.

If you sold your 44 you would probably have enough to pick up a junkyard 14 bolt and a Detroit. If you got a hold of a non posi unit a Detroit is an easy (and fairly cheap) upgrade as, you don't have to replace the whole carrier, they just replace the diff internals.........Hans

ok I dont want a 14 bolt I dont like the how the pumpkin hangs down so far on them. I want a dana 60 I guess what is stock width on a dana 60 out of a f-250 or f-350? what is the stock width on my tj axle?

check into a Dana 70U from 1985 F250 2wd or 4wd. The pumpkin is larger than a Dana 44 but they have a super smooth bottom surface and are 35 spline. numerous gear selections and lockers.
