I've searched and its hard to get good results because the search wont work for numbers. I know this topic has been covered but cant seem to find it.
I want to know what D44 stuff will fit on a dana 60. I have a "74 EB with a D60 swapped in front and I'm tired of mismatch wheels. The D60 is out of a 1989 or so F350. I don't like trying to guess if I'm going to need a front or rear spare before hitting the trail. I have two early bronco D44's. Will the hubs and bearings from these fit over the spindle of the D60. Will the later year ford high pinion dana 44 with disk brakes hubs fit. What do people usually do in this case? Does everyone pull the studs weld the holes and take the rotor to a machine shop and have 5 lugs drilled?

there has been a few threads on it here, but it ends up being big $$$
why not just put a 8 lug rearend in it to match? way cheaper..

well im guessing you probably are running a 9inch in the rear huh? or else id tell you to get a dana 60 8lug rear end. You would have to find a big hub 44 but i dont think any of them were even 5 lug at any point in time

Ya I'm running a 9" in the rear and don't want to get rid of it. I like having a drop out 3rd. And I've got some money invested in it. I've heard of custom 9" shafts with 8 lug flanges or adapting spacers. I guess I'm going to have to go that way. I thought I found a thread with a cheap 5 lug conversion for a dana 60 but I guess I'm smokin crack :smokin:

Get ahold of welndmn. He's done exactly what you want to do (including keeping his 9";))

Only D44 things you can use are the GM calipers (if you did the GM disc's) and the rotor.
You machine the outter part of the hub to slide into the wheel (I noticed Mag wheels need more taken off, so use a steel wheel) then machine the Rotor opening to fit the back side of the Hub.
I had a friend do mine.

You also need to make a new caliper mount, I made one and used the stock GM calipers

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to go with 8 lug rear some how. I don't have any machine shop hook ups.

FYI, no one makes a flange wide enough to make a 9 inch 8 lug, you would need wheel adapters
