did dana make another 3.54 ratio?? I'm looking to swap in my locked, 3.50 geared ford 9" in my '85 f150 beater for some fun.. all the junkyards say that there is a 3.50 geared TTB and a 3.54 geared TTB.
any clue? I figure 4 hundreths off shouldn't make a big deal, but I wanna make sure there isn't a 3.50 Dana 44 before I buy a 3.54 geared one..

Dana never made 3.50, 3.54 is fine

I'll have to get my book, but I'm rather sure that for the reverse spiral 44 ..
"The axle debuted with 3.54 or 4.09 gears .... The 1973 model year also saw the release of the 3.73 and 3.50 gear set in June."

hmm.. according to ford, in my F250 with dana axles, they are both (HP TTB 44 front, and Dana 70 rear) geared 3.54..
The f150 the 9" came out of was 3.50; and I know that all ford 9s came with 3.50s, however now you can get 3.54s from richmond (about $50 more)..
whats the worst that would happen if I put 3.54s in the front? anything? this truck will be driven to the trails, and until spring it'll serve as the winter beater (ie 4wd in the snow), and then it'll get some 35s and be beaten in the mud/woods..
I wanna put the 3.50s in to counter the 35s and get the rear locker.. 3.08 are fine with the 300, but will really suck with 35s.
