I'm working on a 74 bronco for a budy of mine. I have searched this and haven't hit any thing relivant. So here it is.

When drivin straight forward or back the brakes are fantastic. It will lockem up every time. When sitting still with the wheels straight the brakes are fine. But whenever you make a sharp turn moving or not you loose all pedal. It just goes to the floor.

This truck was originally a drum braker and it was converted using chevy calipers. All soft lines are brand new. It also has an aftermarket booster/master cylinder combo. Help.

Are the brake lines getting stretched or pinched during sharp turns?

Are the calipers interfering with anything during sharp tuns?

did you grind your calipers down so they dont hit the knuckle
yes they need to be grinded down if you kept the ford knuckles :smokin:

if the line was being pinched or the caliper hitting the knuckle i dont think it would make the pedal go to the floor. maybe not push or apply pressure but i dont see how that would make it fall.

did i say the caliper hits the rim  no hmmmmm read it again the caliper hits the knuckle . when your wheels are straight and you bleed the brakes the caliper is against the knuckle. pedal is hard because the caliper dont move . when you turn the wheel it frees up the caliper :flipoff2:

What he said ...........

I had a similar prob. the lower part of the caliper would bind against the knuckle , by the steering stop. Ground a little off the knuckle and a little off the caliper and all was well.

Just grind a spot off the knuckle. You HAVE to do this on the EB drum 44 to chebby disc conversion. As stated, the caliper is in a bind while pointed straight and gets out of the bind when you turn the wheels.

I bet one of your caliper soft lines is to tight.
When you make a turn it pulls on it just hard enough for it leak, check those
