: Invite to Az - March timeframe
Azrckcrawler 02-04-2002, 11:07 AM OK, a couple of you guys expressed interest in seeing some of our trails in March. Let's talk about it and set something up. I am thinking about setting up camp out on Table Mesa Rd on a Friday. Saturday we hit Armageddon and Sunday we hit Annihilator and Anaconda. So what weekend is good for you guys? I can do the 2nd-3rd, 9th-10th or 16th-17th.
okcrawler 02-04-2002, 02:13 PM YES we finally wore ya down..... :D :D
My vote:
1st choice - 9-10th
2nd choice - 2-3rd
3rd choice - 16-17th ("Big Meat" run at Grand. Interesting to watch, I don't get to participate :( ... {44" tires min} )
Do you want to do Suzuki only, or open to any capable vehicle (with total disregard to their sheet metal :p )?
RockRanger 02-04-2002, 02:21 PM Just to let you know the 2-3 weeekend is TDS in so cal. Also if i remember right the following weekend is calrocs in victorville. Just a few things to think about that may limit people from coming.
Matt

Anyone who is setup, two lockers, lift, gearing as required. They can see the trails on my site. Anyone else with a preference? 9th-10th looks good to me.

Cali guys don't venture beyond JV anyway  2-6 guys outa state would be plenty. Actually if we get that many we may split into groups so we can hit more trails. I am sure 3-4 local guys will be out there too. Jack is also setting up some runs in April if you can't make March.
scwafish 02-04-2002, 10:03 PM I want to have mine running by April..whats the time frame for that month?
fatkid 02-04-2002, 10:45 PM 40th annual Tierra Del Sol first weekend in March

I sent a PM to Jack, he's the head cheese on the April stuff.
JackA 02-05-2002, 06:11 AM Head cheese huh?
The Toyota Jambo is the 13-14th of April. Camo mentioned something about stopping in AZ on the way back from Easter Jeep in Moab. The weekend after EJS would be April 6-7th. This weekend would work, but considering the Jamboo is the next weekend it might not be the best. How about the weekend of the 27-28th? Basically the April deal is geared towards the TinBenders, others are welcome to cruise out too. If we set it up for the end of the month, it gives plenty of time to recover from the Hammers trip.:D
Bottom line, how does April 26-28th sound to everyone?

plus Tim Tackett from North Coast will be here to play.....
scwafish 02-05-2002, 07:20 AM Late April sounds good to me!...I better get busy!!!!

Hey Jack, if you get some Tin Benders out here I can take the non-benders out.
okcrawler 02-05-2002, 09:28 AM It's starting to sound like two runs are forming. April is too close to our May Moab trip for me, but Chris, if you're willing to set a date in March I'll come. Big group, small group it does not matter to me. Just in search of a :p Fearless Leader :p ..
It's snowing outside, and man I'm ready to do some WHEELIN ... :rasta: Armageddon, Annihilator, Anaconda, yea dats wat I'm talkin 'bout. :D :D :D

Yeah, we are talking two completely separate events here, but I thought it was worth a mention so everyone knows there are options. Let's set our Table Mesa Rockcrawl for March 9th-10th. Armageddon Sat, Annihilator/Anaconda on Sunday, maybe a night run somewhere in there up Raw Deal. I'll set up a web page on my site with maps on how to get there and where we are going to camp.
Desertdueler 02-05-2002, 06:31 PM Are fullsizes invited? I would like to come. I also would like to see zuki wheel. I havent seen any up close yet.
JackA 02-05-2002, 07:11 PM You can ask Chris what happens to fullsize on those trails.:skull:
Desertdueler 02-05-2002, 07:24 PM JackA, I dont think you have seen my truck:)
I rolled my Jimmy 6 times last summer down a 75 foot hil the was on a 70 degree incline. I am not worried about the body. The only thing I did since then is put a new front clip on it, other than that all the panels are old.
fatkid 02-05-2002, 11:53 PM Let me ask Tin Bender if I can have the days off...:)

Mid sized rigs have a good chance of being turned into a convertible on Armageddon :D

But if you have written off the body the only thing you need is ample ground clearance, lockers, a winch and some good driving skills. The big Blazer had 44's and made it thru the trail pretty good. 38's on something that big would be the min tire I would reccomend.
Desertdueler 02-06-2002, 06:24 PM Well I am spooled in the rear and locked up front, but am still on 35s:mad: Yea as for the body check out the pics of my Jimmy and that will tell you what it looks like
www.geocities.com/modifierperformance
then click on Blazer pics
JackA 02-07-2002, 06:24 AM That thing is mint.:D
Good thing you had a cage. As far as the trails go, if you don't have any type of crawler, you won't be having much fun. Slow is the key. I am sure it would be entertaining watching a fullsize bust it's way through.:skull:
Desertdueler 02-08-2002, 06:13 PM Well my crawl ratio is i the mid 30s before the torque converter. But unfortunatlly I will not be able to make it now since I just blew up my 12 bolt. So not I am putting in 1 ton axles. Nest will be the 42s as well. Next time I will go out. I can make it fit :D
okcrawler 02-13-2002, 05:59 AM Hey Chris,
I've got a couple more OK recrutes for March... :rasta:
I think they can handle it :D
The Bronco like thing:

Sweet. I'll try and put together a web page with directions and itinerary on Sunday. You guys planning on being here Friday night?

We plan to leave Tulsa sometime Thur and arrive Friday evening. How early Friday depends on what we end up taking (I'd like to be there by dark). If Danny still has his Freightliner/RV rig, we may put all the trucks on his 3 car trailer and drive up. With it, we can rotate drivers and should handle more hours in a day. The camp site you were talking about, does it have RV hookups and room for a 90' rig to get in and out of?

Rv Hookups , no but plenty of dirt..... You should b able to get a big truck back there. I have seen campers the size of a bus parked out there. I'll be out there with my tent :emb:
JackA 02-13-2002, 08:23 AM I should be ready to rock and roll that weekend. Actually I will be testing the new toys out the weekend before at the AZ rock crawl thing.
I have a bunch of firewood I could bring out too.:D

No parking on the grass.?. :D :D
Well, to the right you see traveling in class. To the far left you see, well let's just say my little tent fits on the trailer quite nicely. ;)

P.S. - He's got the rig for sale.... 90K, but that does not include the trailer :(

Are you running in the rock crawl thing? I was going to go but when I heard it was going to be the same as last time  They are also charging for parking this year so you'll want to carpool.
JackA 02-13-2002, 09:14 AM I figured I would be in the area. I think I am going to run H2H and Axle Alley. It will be hard to charge me for parking when I am not parked. :D

Just so you know they are planning on gating off the entrances to the area. If you don't want to deal with teh hassles we'll be running that new trail on Sat.....
EMIEVEL 02-13-2002, 11:15 AM Which weekend are we talkin about here? Also, if that rig from OK is really 90', you might have some problems with the DOT in AZ! I got busted for being 74' long. I know OK has different laws cause that's where I bought my 60' trailer.
Azrckcrawler 02-13-2002, 11:52 AM We are talking about the 9th-10th, look at the 14th post.

I don't remember exactly (it's like 8x'). They deal with DOT, I try to avoid it.. One difference is that they register it as an RV (non commercial vehicle - ie no weight station stops, if you can convince the HP of it..).
All I know is if he offers to drive, I'll probably take him up on it. :) Otherwise, the old 1/2 ton Dodge and 7k trailer is pretty much exempt.
