Need one to tear apart '76 front axel, anyone know what size
I need and where to get one other than ordering from after market source or dealership.

Disc brake cruiser axles use 54mm or 2 1/8 standard socket. I bought a real socket at Sears. I like it, cause it doesn't distort like the cheap sheet metal ones TPI etc sells. Wasn't cheap, though.

I looked around but couldn't find one in that size for a right price. So i just made one. I used .125 X 2 in steel. I bent two pieces each into 3 sides and then wleded it together, works great and was free.

found thecorect size at my local pawn shop.
cheep.

I buy most of my sockets from the pawn shop.

you can get snap on or chraftsman tools

for the price of harborfreight tools,

I bought my socket for the front axle (wheel bearing) at the local NAPA for about 12 bucks.
