aaron t 11-09-2004, 10:02 PM that is very nice. i hope i can make my series I look close to that clean. it will take years.
76ROVER 11-09-2004, 10:04 PM great work Ike, hope to get mine looking as good as that sometime
aaron t 11-09-2004, 10:13 PM btw, can i get my steering wheel rebuilt? it has the centre and the spokes, but the wheel itself is rotted off.
Leafsprung 11-09-2004, 10:18 PM Find another good one and buy it. I can get the originals recast in urathane but its very expensive (like 600 bucks). Yours sounds to far gone to restore whats there. Recasting or replacing are about your only options.

ISUZUROVER 11-10-2004, 01:29 AM Looks great Ike - what engine is that???
aaron t 11-10-2004, 01:32 AM :( thats what i was afraid of. i shudder to think what a new one will cost.
i am still looking for body parts (bonnet, breakfast, front fenders). the farm where the beast came from was a dead end. ebay has been gay also. i am also trying to figure out if i can have a local shop clean up my block, and/or rebuild it for cheaper than a new one.
ike i am so seriously jealous. i can only imagine how it will feel to turn that key, fire it up and watch the looks of awe from those who have never seen a series truck in all of its glory before :D
thank you for makeing our world better
Leafsprung 11-10-2004, 06:44 AM Ben,
Its a 3.0L GM 4 cyl. 150hp/180ft/lbs.
Aaron,
Ive seen some 80 inch stuff on ebay, but you can probably pick up what you need from Martin at National 4x4 in canada. He has a ton of series stuff.

PTSchram 11-10-2004, 06:51 AM C'mon Ike, show 'em the before pics! You don't need to be too descriptive of the guy we bought them from.
How'd you like that stop sign right down from Mike's house? Did you slide through it like we did? Never expected to not stop, what with the road bein' wet and havin' that much weight on the trailer.
Are you ever moving?

Sounds like a nice engine - a diesel would have been better though.
Leafsprung 11-11-2004, 08:03 AM Wasnt up to me. I did it for a buddy.

Simon 11-11-2004, 09:08 AM Dumb question (hey did you expect anything less?) but is that dynamat extreme, or is it their "hoodliner" stuff on the inside of the hood? I was thinking about using the extreme on the underside of my hood, but wondered about its "stick-ability" versus weight.
Nice work Ike.
Tried PM'ing you yesterday but your box was full.

sachilles 11-11-2004, 11:26 AM You damn well better be proud of that! Very nice.

That's the extreme he used. I wouldn't worry about the "stick ability". I used the XXXtreme stuff as a 1st layer and their hoodliner in the second. The extreme stuff has much more "stickability" than the hoodliner did.

The extreme stuff is heavy though.
