Not tire rotation :flipoff2: I have to rework my bolt pattern to fit the spare on my tire carrier, went to 6 x 5.5 on my CJ7 w/D44. I know some of you have seen or fabricated yourselves away to mount the hub and spindle to the tire carrier, any pics, tips or tricks. Do you weld the spindle in place. Be nice to have a place to carry a spare locking hub :D

Take a spare spindle and bolt it where the spare tire bolts on. Then you will have a spare spindle, wh. brgs, hub/rotor, lockout and tire. I'd put probably 4 of the 6 bolts thru the spindle into the tire carrier at least.

Thanks, I like the idea of bolting it on much better than welding, plus you always have to move it up when you get bigger tires :D

Put some kind of axle stub in it too, so you can lock the hub to get the lug nuts off kinda PITA to do if they have been there awile and the wheel is turning.

If you need to stop one from spinning while breaking the lugs loose, you can always wrap a tow strap around the outside of the tire and have a buddy hold the tire in place - he has so much leverage it's not very hard to do. Works just like a giant band-style oil filter wrench. :D
