well i am a lucky enough man to have found EXCELLENT deals on a pair of ford front 60s that each need work...
i dont have a second trail rig to put the second one in yet, and ive always thought 4 wheel steer kicked ass, so i have a few questions.
#1. where can i go to get the diff centered in the housing? how much $ can i expect to pay?
more to come, im sure.
TIA :flipoff2:

    Just do it right and have the long side cut down and a new tube put in the short side. Do it correct the first time and dont sleeve the tube.

That is how I would do it. Don't cut corners on a bad@ss axle like that...

I agree, sleeve will work fine.
I have even heard some welders say that unsleeved butt welded should be plenty strong. But I think they were morons, and I would never recommend it.

Its not my first choice either but............................................... .....
82FB Thank you.
Thats what happend to me.
Bought semi float ends for the 12 bolt, took them to the shop and my machinist/welder says, this shit don"t fit the tube.
So i call up the manufacturer, and they say.
Oh those are to be fillet welded on.
So i go back to the shop and get a lesson in sleeves.
If you have some tube laying around and not alot of cash, It will work just fine with a good welder.

watched my friend break both his front and rear BUTT welded axles.:rainbow: not recomended! your gonna use 60s, so why weaken them? go to a machine shop or a good shop and have them done right.:D i dont think they would charge more than a couple hundred $$.
