Alright, I'm setting the toe, but need the general direction which way to go.

SYMPTOMS: more than normal wear on the inside of the tires. Do I toe IN or OUT???

I like no more than 1/8 inch toe in
wheels straight and off ground measure from two push pins at center of tire tread and heighth then roll tires till push pins are in back, and measure what you got

that's my advice, but what do I know

(sorry, I can't pass this oppertunity up)

you put your left foot in, you put our left foot out.........and shake it all about!

...ok, it may be the wine.....

oh! you wanted an answer.....

you need to toe in.......Ithink? :flipoff2:

do some reading and it will all make sense......and by than I will confirm your lernin' :D

ok here.....think about it..imagine the wheels(visualize..use your hands or two blocks of words...ok, now turn them in at the front and think about the tire wear..think scraping of an edge.....now turn them out and do teh same...this should help

Paul(remember I am drinking...so any irrationality to any of my comments is to be excused...and errors as well)

Sounds good to me. I aim for 1/16" as sometime back I calculated the offset for 16' of angle and got the 1/16" as being real close.

Yes, track rod BEHIND axle. Ball joints in compression.

If your trackrod is a thick, stiff and solid bar, (sounds obscene ) it would not matter if you had toe in or toe out. But LandRovers have long, thin, hollow and wobbly track rods, so they must be set up so that when the wheels pull straight ahead and parallel the track rod is under tension not compression.
