So ive done some searching and came up with it can be done, but not very clear on details, someone said th350 adapter works but is too short and need a spacer? anybody make one of these? or will i have to but a really expensive adapters? or what other options do i got? the 4l60e is out of a 99 and is a 4wd bolted to an auto trac, and i need pass side drop to match my chevvy front! what case should i look for year wise? i have a race track style bolted to a sm465 but i believe they were 10 spline. i believe someone also said a 203, to 205 double would work too?

I think for '99 that 4L60E got a removable bellhousing and a revised 6-bolt output pattern... like this:

I'm speculating.... you may be able to redrill the face of an NP203 (TH350 type) to use the autotrac adapter.

Oh, and you've also got to come up with a VSS solution for the ECM ;)

EDIT: The 90-91 K5 & Burb use an NP241 with VSS - and its passenger drop. I am almost certain it would bolt straight to the autotrac adapter.

there's a kit out there to convert a 2wd th350 to a 4wd unit, it is a cheap ($60) 3" aluminum spacer w/4 bolt pattern. i used this to make a 205 fit my 700r4. i hope this helps.

Thanks alot, both of you, on the 241.... what kinda strength does it have? im not familiar to that case? similar to the old 208? ill start searching on it.. and doesnt the vss go off the 4l60e? cant remember for sure but thought it did?

EDIT: Reeser, wered you go about getting that adapter? And the 241 out of the burb, is that from a 700r4?

The VSS is in the trans tailhousing on a 2wd model. On a 4wd model they get it from the t-case.

NP241 is the evolution of the NP208. Supposed to be stronger. There's SYE kits for these too. The 27-spline version comes from behind a TH700. The TH400, 4L80E, and manual trans ones are 32-spline.

excellent, so in theory, one from a 700 should bolt upto my 99 4l60e? cause i could possibly pick one up for a case of beer :smokin:
