Hey yall,

We just got finished replacing the kickdown cable on a ZF and after we put everything back together the RRC won't move. It doesn't even feel like the tranny is engaging [yes, I have the fluid back in it] and I am getting a little worried.

When I first cranked it up I heard a little rattling noise and within 3 seconds I turned it back off. Now when I crank it hear nothing and it does nothing.

We removed the entire valve body and were EXTRA careful. Is it possible that the small shaft piece attached to the valve body that has a little tit on it fits into the small hole on the end of the cable inside the ZF? We couldn't see to make it fit that way so we set it on top of the roller assembly and it seemed to fit correctly.

Any suggestions please, I am supposed to be selling the truck on Tuesday.. YIKES!

When you replaced the valve body did you ensure the shifter spool valve was engaged with the shift lever pin, ie the pin must fit into the yoke. Also did you mark the valve body position before removal, it can float approx 3mm back and forth and if not in the correct position will cause funny!! shifts. ZF supply a fixture to locate the valve body. Drop the pan to confirm the pin is engaged in the yoke.
