: Center arm question

I rebuilt my center arm on my 78 fj40 that I am doing from the frame up. ANyhow, I got it back together last night and I am wondering if there is a preload I should set it at. It also drags in part of the rotation. Believe it or not the main shaft had some really nasty burs on the holes that were drilled in for lubrication. This is a joint fuji kit. Needless to say, I cleaned them up so they were smooth, but it still seems like something in dragging on the bushing. ANyhow, is there any trick to how much you need to tighten the cap?? Thanks in advance for any advice. Yeah, I know, I need to get a manual.

The Toyota manual says to tighten the big ass nut/top of center arm fully, then undo it 1/4 turn. Lock it down then with small locking bolt. Center arms suck.:flipoff2:

The steering is the wink link in the cruzahs. You should seriously consider doing the P/S conversion. The difference between stock and P/S is like night and day! You can also take 1 step further and do shackle revesal, your cruzah will really handle after that mod.
The only way I would keep the stock setup is if your doing a restoration in the bone stock class. Maybe thats what your doing.................:skull:

I am going to put on a mini truck PS setup (have all the shit, just dont have it on yet). I know that saginaw box is better off road, but this truck is for my wife, so it wil see only some mild off road action and will most likely have 31" or maybe 33". This isnt going to be the bad mofo rock crawler. That is truck 3. I have to finish hers, then finish my DD/trail truck fj60, then on to the propane, turbo, stroked and bored chev 292, with sm420 and dual transfer cases on an fj40.:D I will have to wait until she (wife) is done with med school so I can afford it, then my ass is retireing at 35:flipoff2:

Thanks for the info
