Does anyone have hydro assest on thier Nissan? If so, got some pics? I just got all the stuff to add power steering to my truck and want to prep it hydro before I install the box. Thanks.

You know, thats an excelent question. I cant recall anyone doing it yet.

Call up someplace like westtexasoffroad, who do the redneck ram kit, and ask them. They will rebuild and tap steering boxes for $100.

Somone did it about 2 years ago but I'd be damned if i could remember who it was.

If this is the same Greg I am thinking of he has a solid front alxle. I assumed we were talking about hydro assit on a stock Nissan steering?

I went ahead and drilled and tapped it. It was alittle different than a Chevy box, but it still uses the same idea as far as where the fluid has to go. I will post pics tomorrow.

Yeah, it does kind of sound like that....not sure why you'd do that on IFS but...

Cool, depending on which engine you are running, you may need to swap in a stronger power steering pump when you go to hydro assist. The stock pump is pretty low pressure/flow from what I've heard.

Yeah, I have it on my Nissan steering box, but the ram is on a solid axle, not IFS. The ported spots of the box from West Texas interfered with the factory bumper brackets, so I had to do some cutting there...no big deal since I didn't need them. Something to think about though...
