: tube fender while keeping the inner fender
big4294x4 11-14-2004, 12:47 PM Dont flame me yet. Ive searched and seen all the tube fenders everyone builds with no inner fender. Has anyone out there built actually strong flat fenders and kept the existing inner fender in some form? I am not ready to drop the inner fender yet.
Vermit 11-14-2004, 12:56 PM Take a look at Poison Spyder Customs.
v8cjmark 11-14-2004, 01:00 PM Yea somebody does but can't remember who..they are an overlay of your existing fenders after you cut the crap out of them, but you can keep the inners in place...like you will hear SEARCH

Best tube fenders I've seen and they retain the stock inner fenders. They are plenty stout too.

upnover-X 11-14-2004, 01:08 PM Well I don't know if you want "Just the Look" or a tube fender to stand up to rocks....... Overlay one are not as strong as the full tube fender.... I have some from TnT customs and they kicka$$... Strong as hell....and they come with a 3/4 fender well.......

utahusker 11-14-2004, 02:15 PM Poison spider's don't use the stock inner fender but they use 3/16 steel which is better imho. I can stand on mine and i'm a fat sonsabitch.

I put those in my TJ about a month ago. Very stoud. I kneel on them all the time when working in the engine compartment. I like that you can remove the panels for better access to the engine bay.
stoutcrawler 11-14-2004, 06:34 PM i built mine and kept the inner fender. ill post pix tomarrow when i can take them in the light. used 1 1/2 tube with 1/8 plate top and bottom. have some pics on my webshots

selph 11-15-2004, 09:52 AM It weighs about 60lbs. It's tied in to myrock sliders and the frony frame. The engine bay tube goes all the way across. It's made from 1.75" X .120 wall HREW. Thanks, Dave

That sucks that the full corners are on site installed only items.
GaryTJ 11-15-2004, 11:34 AM On mine, I kept most of the stock fender and just added on over the top and incorperated the flare in at the same time. I tied it to the front grill hoop and the rock sliders and it is strong enough to move the Jeep sideways with it.

I'm would bet if you talk to him he would sell them for install by you.... Give Bob a call.. or E-mail..... He has just started and might not have all the templates yet... and that might be why??

JeepinDoug 11-15-2004, 10:49 PM If you could build the outside, you could do the inside too.

do you have to get FAA clearances before you drive that thing? Looks like it has enough wingspan to fly...

WheelingPiazza 11-17-2004, 11:36 AM If your making them then just take your current inner fender and cut along the ridge just inside the hood line. then cut to fit.
