I wanted to see some pics of full width axles under a scout II and what kinda wheel back spacing others have run. i have seen some scout run full widths with hummer beadlocks but would also like to see some pictures of what full width looks like with less back spacing. i am also planing on running 38-40 inch tires with a 14/dana 60 set up If anyone is running any set up close to this post some pics or email them to me...

SEARCH!
i just did a quick search in this section and found MANY posts on full width axles under scouts!
and please try to make a little more sense if ya would
wondering if i needed to narrow it, as well as the front Dana 60 im still looking for. After deciding to leave it full width

(can i say this now or am i out of place?) :flipoff2:

Hey KIRKLAND BOI.....

Dude...if you plan to run the 14 right now...then yes you will have to narrow it. Or just roll it against your garage and weight till you find your 60 front...

IF IT WAS ME....I would find a full-width 44 front and run it. Slap the 14 in the rear...then run your fotay's. Anything less than a 40" tire does not equate due to the pig size of the 14. Unless you choose to shave your pig.... :grinpimp:

Actually I would ask the same thing.

"full width" has a couple different meeings.

IH PU axles "full width" are narrower than Chevy PU 1/2T axles.

Chevy 3/4T units are wider still, same as a front D60.

there are a couple different width of "full width" rear axle as well....

splitting hairs, but 2" CAN make a differance in both looks and legality.

If your running 40's though, you should probably be thinking un-cut chevy and lots of cut fender.

Don't know what the front 44 axle is from , just that it is a 3/4 ton HD one .
He redid all the spring hangers and is running the stock Chevy springs .

Anybody interested in buying Snoopy or trading another truck for it? It is to much truck for the new owner in Maryland. We did get a hard top to fit on it and have some doors for it now.

Oh my....you had to ask....this is going to be a REAL sad story....so get prepared...

No....your not ready yet.... GET REAL PREPARED!

TC was built and done in 2000-2001 ~ Chad really put the hammer on it and wheeled it REAL good.

Then he went to the EJS03 and rolled it. Spectators tell me he was show-boating down WhiteKnuckle Hill on the Behind The Rocks trail. and presto!
http://www.dandcextreme.com/upload/chadroll.gif

After TWO years of HARD wheeling and no problems he dented the side and broke the radiator and engine mount. Decided then he would be better off in a jeep. So he parted it out ~ yes, parted it out. (I know the guys who got the cage, engine, new atlas and wheels/tires) ~ and then....he did the unthinkable. He bought a jeep. Not just any jeep ~ a Currie Enterprises "Hellderado" edition, you know, the real BLING-BLING mall crawler?

Last time I saw him, I pretended I didn't know about the demise of TC. It was at the ChiliPeper Run at Independance trail. He was there without his Jeep. I asked how the Scout was, he told me that it was parted out and that his brand new jeep was in the shop. I asked what happened. Turns out he's blown up the bling-bling Currie 9" rear axle, then the transmission, then the engine. And it was getting a RamJet 350, 700R-whatever and a D60 rear.

Oh, and he broke it all in less than 6 months since getting the Jeep. I said, "Well you know, you got to go easy on those Jeeps ~ remember, its not a scout..." With that, our conversation was just about over and I was left to mourn the loss of a top-notch rig.

It was too bad. From what I remember, the roll killed the radiator, an engine mount and the bikini top (a couple dents as well).

I forgot to mention that I special ordered a 11x17" color glossy picture of TC in mid-roll from MoabActionShots.com ~ its hanging on my Bathroom door. Chad didn't want to sign it though...

More of a waste if you ask me. :shaking: :mad3:  TC was quite a rig. A bit higher than I liked, but it wouldn't tip over unless you really wanted it to. In fact, funny as it is, he never got it over on it's side.

He was supposed to come back and let us link the front end w/ some coils.

I tried to buy the body/frame off him so I could rebuild it, but I think the crusher found it...he never told me what he ended up doing with it.

Rusty who?

Oh yeah ~ Rusty. Well, I haven't touched it since the last bit of post. I have this thing that makes me feel guilty for working on Rusty when I've got orders that are late. So far I'm done with ALL cage kits (except for the one ordered yesterday :shaking:) and all the peice part orders. Which leaves me with bumpers ~ Luckily, I'm finishing the last 3 or 4 of the thoses ~ I will have them done and gone by the week's end.

But trust me, as soon as these bumpers are gone, I have a long over-due *date* with Rusty. And let me tell ya, we are going to spend some SERIOUS quality time together.

Hey snoop, You should have your customer's(St.louis native with Red Scout 800 that has ben in some popular videos) phone number since you have charged him for parts that have yet to be sent out months ago. It has ben a challenge for him to get ahold of you and since you wont return his calls to let him know where his parts or money is at he ask if we could help with this. I have spoke to him and he is upset about all of this. I believe ihc4b has sent you his number in case you lost it!!!

So since you mention it today ~ I have to ask: How long ago did he ask you to conact me? He has my cell number, I haven't talked to him ~ nor recieved a call from him ~ since Monday:confused:

Haha, we were right behind those guys that day on Behind The Rocks, when we got down to White Knuckle, it was all cleaned up and they were on there way, but all the spectators were being weird telling us we were going to roll. Then we found out he had done that just before. Small world. Saw him on the way out, didn't look too bad at all really.

Snoopy
11-24-2004, 07:12 AM
No, it wasn't too bad. From what I heard he was able to drive it out. I'm thinking he part'd it because the roll freak'd him. Of course the stated reason was 'I need something more family friendly'.
