I am trying to assemble a good home garage for as cheap as I can. Right now I am looking to pick up a welder.
I will not be welding much besides bumpers and spring hangers as carnage requires. I will not be welding anything thicker than 1/4" steel at anytime.
I used a lincoln ac/dc 225 red box at home to build my project. The red box is all I really know to use and I do not have anyone to ask about what welder I need for my current setup. I cannot afford $400.00, plus supplies cost for a red box welder I will rarely use right now. (None of the local pawn shops have any red boxes either....)
I would like to be able to use 110 volt instead of 220 volt if I can get away with it, but I can install a 220 plug if need be. I would like to use a stick welder but can use a "flux" mig. I need to be able to weld 1/4" steel at the max.
Anybody what to enlighten me??? Thanks in advance.
