I am gathering stuff to do my 70 blazer, I got a 2WD box, and a ford drop arm, but the arm seems to be clocked 1/8 turn on the alignment notches. Have I got the wrong arm, or is this insignificant. I am comparing it to the 2WD arm I took off the box, which came off a mid 70's suburban.
throw the 2wdr arm in the trash and dont look at it, problem solved

OK heres what I did.I used an arm off of a jeep. Its actually a little short but it was clocked a little off.I took a small triangle file and on the 4 flat spots on the inside of the arm I carefully filed splines into them and wam bam you can clock it any which way you want to! Just be certain to make a mark to show you where you were so you can clock it the correct way!Or you can just through the other one away and ignore the fact that your steering wont ever be dead nuts center!

Order the Superlift Part # 1104 and you will be done. If you use the 7/8 tie rod ends you will need to ream it out.  :D

Assuming you are using heim joints...Find a buddy who has a lifted Dodge and ask him for his stock pitman arm or see if a local off-road shop has one laying around. Then drill it out to match your heim joint bore.

yea. what the capt. said. I to used the jeep steering arm and it worked fine it also has a 2" drop in it. I also used 1.5 4140 for the tie rod and steering rod.

What year/type Dodge? When I was doing mine, a found that a '77 1/2 ton (I think there are 2 different steering setups on them, forget which one, but I think it was the HD setup) Dodge would have worked perfect, except the sector shaft taper was the wrong way.

Any 4WD Dodge with solid front axle and coils springs. I don't know the exact year range, but you should be safe if you stay between 1996 and 2001.

Thanks, will have to go outside and look someday. I'm amazed anything good could possibly come out of the POS steering setup on those trucks. :flipoff2:
