have a high mileage 208k 91 cherokee high output. for around the last 50k or so miles it seems like it takes a while for it to start. Crank it about 15-20 seconds stop.crank it again then it starts. any ideas on what causes this? Thanks Travis

Search for this. There are quite a few thread that address this in the newbie section.

CPS sensor could be loose or could be TPS issue

Quite often a tired failing fuel pump is the cause of your condition.

Fuel pump is kinda what i was thinking becuase it is like it has to rebuild pressure. are these pumps mechanical or electrical (havent taken the time to look and where are they located? Thanks Travis

I did some searchin around today and the common problem i found was fuel drain back. I tried the double prime method.

Turn the key let the fuel pump come on and go off.

Turn the key off and back on and then start when the pump went off the second time.

Still doesnt start worth a crap :(

thanks for some help Travis

check out crank position sensor. mine gave me trouble for awhile and finally traced it down to that. never threw a code but thats what it ended up being.
