holley pro-jection brain where radio hole is, cb left of ash tray. cb is a galaxy 44 maybe 6-8 watts<-joosed. analog efi stuff . the efi is run off relays so not on same circuit. the cb is in the fuse box. I have a 102" whip grounded at base. I've made a ton of changes so I can't tell when it started doing this. If you know anything let me know. Thanks, Rick

so, this started when you installed the CB? if so, retrace your work on it's install?
take a break, grab that roach out of the ashtray and look at it from a different perspective:)
If it used to work fine and it doesn't now, then that tells me a wire somewhere has begun to short out. I aint no cb-er so tell me if i understand this right - everything is fine til you punch the button that lets you talk over the cb? If so, that ought to be easy - figure out what circuits are involved there and follow those wires, one of 'em has begun to short out somewhere.

there are only 2 wires on the cb 12v and grd. I was hoping it might be a RF interference thing that someone may have heard of. BTW don't let the newbie tag thing fool you. I've been kicking this around for a while. Thanks

I know the holley projection manual says not to run any CB power wires within about 6 inches of one of the main brain box wires (I forget which one though) If this is done it could cause problems with the injection pulse. I speak from experience cuz this happened to me when I installed my pro jection. Hope this helps.

There was a site called Meach's Jeep page (can't find the address) where he talked about how much the projection sucked. He said that on some Jeeps if the vehicle next to it used the CB it would die. I think there is some really bad shielding going on on those things. You might want to try moving the CB antenna, or getting another EFI setup.

Move either the Holley projection brain, or the CB, or the CB wiring... Simple.

First re-Route the Antenna wire...............And or replace with a Good High Grade one.
Mine had the same problem before I bought my Jeep, I belive that He redid the grounds and power leads too both the cb and fuel controller.

a buddy of mine runs the projection on an amc360 in a cj7 and has a Cb mounted under the dash with no problems.
so they can coexist, I sort of doubt its RF power, more like the voltage drop when teh Rf amp is engaged.
BUT if you think it might be RF interference, just wrap the efi brain in alumionum foil, isoltate what componnoentes you feel might be guilty until you figure out what it is.
Id probably start with +12 and ground direct to teh battery for teh CB though ( fused of course)
