I'm looking into the possibilty of putting 4wd under my 2wd sub while we have the engine out for replacement. Is there any diference in the mount that bolts to the block in 2wd vs 4wd?

What year is the Sub? Normally 2WD & 4WD chevys have the same engine mounting points. Even chevys that came with 6 cyl, had provisions for mounting V-8's. :skull:

the sub is a 86-87? What I need to know is there a difference in the heght of the steel motor mount that bolts to the block. The rubber frame mounts look the same.

I haven't been under a two wheel drive chevy in a while, but if I remember correctly, the motor mounts are bolted to the crossmember in a 2 wheel truck and on what I can only describe as flanges on a 4 wheel truck. The cross members are different. On a two wheel truck, it is part if the independant suspension, while on a 4 wheel truck it is smaller and farther forward.

Hope this helps.:p
