mudtruck44 11-19-2004, 05:14 PM "....we’ll be in the hunt for a big win in La Paz.” - Tracy Jordan
So they din't pull off the big win?
desertbull 11-19-2004, 06:45 PM Hey Rock Crawlers....
Tracy Jordan and Jason Paule race against some top names in the world of professional motorsports and Michael Jourdain took first place in there class. Jordan and Paule split driving duties with several other people including media people from Men's Journal magazine as well as Fred Williams who rocked the Baja desert.
Jordan and Paule's split times were the best even though they suffered a few flats...damn Tracy you can' hit those two foot boulders along the beach...
The race car was over 7 hours late being brought into their pit at San Juanico and once they entered the car the oil pressure gauge was pegged..so from the get go they were begging oil for the Porsche Powered motor...Jordan says, "Por Favor oil" is his latest saying as he asked every group along the race course for oil until they were full.
Jordan blazed the trail from the San Juanico and Paule said "Tracy is a great driver...I was totally comforatble the entire time."
Jordan said, "We were at the pit at 11pm last night ready to take the car but it didn't arrive until past 6am this morning and once we were in it was out-of-control. We are building a desert race rig in the next couple months."
Paule said, "This was the greatest experience of my life..truly incredible."
BFGoodrich was on hand, Todd Steen, Dennis Weaver, Frank DeAngelo to present hats to the rock crawlers as they cross the finish line of the Baja 1000 in La Paz.
Paule said, "Wow....driving the Baja 1000 was totally awesome."
Jordan and Paule arrived to their pit at San Juanico and ran into ex-UROC employee Natalie who was surprised they were there as well as Ellis who was pitting for another team. Jordan said, "When I told Ellis we were racing he said, WTF are you talking about."
Jordan and Paule were bombarded by the hordes of desert racing fans at the La Paz finish line..some 10,000 estimated at the line.
Two hours later, Rock Runner Racing's Don Robbins crossed the finish line after riding his Husaberg moto by himself over the 1016.3 mile course from Ensenada. Robbins ironmanned the course but crashed hard in 3 feet of silt only 14 miles from the finish smashing his left ring finger on a massive rock. The finger was shredded as he was met by us at the finish line and greeted with a cold Tecate beer. Robbins was treated by SCORE medical personnel and drove himself to the hospital in La Paz where he is having surgery on his finger as I report here. Robbins and his friend, Steve Luly, both ironmanned the incredibly tough race course.
The Rock Crawlers represented you guys well and the desert racing world took notice to a couple guys who say, "We're coming back next year!!!"

desertbull 11-19-2004, 06:59 PM Oh yeah, I almost forgot....
We are at the finish line in La Paz this morning at something like 5:45 am...and friggin' Nate Williams was standing there...I had hooked him up with the FABTECH Trophy Truck team of Scott Steinberger #7 who barrel rolled his truck a couple times at RM405....and Nate took some time off from Mt. Logan Off-Road to run chase on Scott's chase truck...
They started in Ensdenada and chased/race the Trophy Truck down the Baja Peninsula during all the problems and racing etc...to the finish line.
I'm sure Nate and John have their own desert racing ideas after that run...big thanks to Nate Williams for helping out my friend Scott Steinberger on the #7 Trophy Truck who eventually finished in 7th position after a big crash/roll while trying to pass the winner-Mark Miller at RM 405...and damn I can tell you...it's a bad ass nasty left 90 degree turn...
Thanks Nate and also to John for the time to let Nate come out and play!
desertbull 11-19-2004, 07:01 PM In 05 I'm smelling a race between Mike/Lance and Tracy/Jason brewing...and what about Mitchie...Got Desert?

Lance 11-21-2004, 10:05 AM Lance, thats it, I'm telling troy to stop building the new buggy and I'm dropping off the a neon. That look slike a blast!
It better be a turbo neon if it wants to keep up with my new ACURA INTEGRA! She's already broken the jump distance record at the Roundeyes.com raceway - the old record was set on an TT125 Yamaha at about 26 feet (it's a small, tight oval 8 track)... The ACURA busted out 36 feet. :D:D:D:D:D More on our racing in January, when "Garden Valley Raceway" has it's first race of the year.
Mitchie - Oak trees and alcohol... Mmmmmm delicious! ;)
Sorry for the thread hijack! Congrats to Jason, Tracy, and Don! :D
