A current picture here:

http://root.moose.ca/~chris/images/Ptera_at_the_farm.jpg

And you can find more pics and details at

http://root.moose.ca/~chris (really out of date)

Pretty basic setup:

*1985 SJ-413 long wheelbase
* 2" OME springs
* SPOA
* Ford F-150 Rims
* 33x9.5x15 tires
* stock engine
* rocklobster 4:1 t-case (to be installed - shelfware)
* Breeze x-over steering (to be installed - shelfware)
* Lockright rear (in the mail)
* ARB bumper, Warn M5000
* custom rear bumper
* 5.12:1 axle gears
* header, cam and side draft Mikunnis (to be installed - shelfware)

Plus a bunch of other minor things.

I really need to get a cage in it - to protect myself and to get rid of the cheesey support structure required for the soft top (LWB soft tops are completely different form SWBs). Just waiting for the weather to get warmer to get at it.

I also have a "simple" SWB soft top on 31" tires and a simple SPOA, ARB bumper with M4500, etc. Nothing too radical. Plus a bunch of parts trucks.

That's about it.

They seem to work well at the Hammers, although I'm going to have to invest is some Beadlocks. As soon as we have the time in the next week or so Tin Bender and I are going to do some cutting on them as well to add some lateral traction. I guess we'll see.:)

What's you width?????

I forget how wide the d44 hybyd is, but just a bit wider than an ifs toy rear. My wheels have 3 inch back spacing. The overall width (outside of tire to outside of tire) is around 77-78 inches, pretty wide for a zuk, but still skinny compared to something on fullsize axles.

zukiman
02-07-2002, 11:28 AM
It's undergone some upgrades since this photo was taken: TJ Bushwacker flares, SUMO rear driveshaft, SUMO 6.1 gears, Yukon 4.57's, and 6-pack rear YJ springs. The mods are always ongoing.
http://www.off-road.com/~beasley/zukiman.jpg
By the way, with my 33x14.50's on 2-inch backspaced wheels on stock axles, my track width is almost as wide as Scwafish's. The super-wide TJ flares I have now still leave about 1.5 to 2 inches of tire hanging outside the fenders!
