With a great tool like that, you could build something real impressive, like a killer buggy:question:

the only problem I see is there is not a price total for the parts so I need to figure it myself :D did you do a brake so it does not slide around on you when not in use? Or is it not a problem?

How much did it cost you to make this hydraulic setup? I have the same bender and I like the idea of it being mobile better than bolted to the floor, so hydraulic seems to be the way to go. I have a porta power but like you said, unhooking it...and pumping hundreds of times...is a PITA.

You have a rough estimate on cost for that setup Jay?

Great write-up man :cool2:

I spent maybe $750 for the hydro convert....plus the steel to build the stand.

Seems like that is more expensive than the hydro conversion JD2 sells, or am I off base here?

Yes, but realize with the JD2 setup you have to re-pin twice to do a 90 deg bend.
Mine will do over 105 deg one-shot…..no re-pin, no risk of moving the tube, etc.

I like the design Jay, how heavy is it?

Just wondering if it gets tippy with a full 24' stick hangin' in it?

Ahhhh - now that makes sense :)

I am currently scrounging to gather parts for my hydro swap. I currently have a 12 volt pump I could use, but the 12 volt part makes it a little awkward (car battery and charger could work I guess).

May have aa line on another one that is 110v however - free is always good :cool2:

I saw the price on the Northern Tools one you used - not exactly cheap.

I'll figure something out in the next week or so... just gotta scrounge for the right parts to make it work :D

Do you think you could do one for my Harbor Freight pipe bender Jay?:D
Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve when it's done.

Probably weighs 120-150 lbs. and handles 1.75" x .120 full 20' stick (~40 lbs.)
with no problem. I do use a roller support for the end though....just too long
to let hang.

Dunno 'bout the HF setup Pat ;-)
