I have never owed one but a few friends have, I have alway sgot mixed reviews on the engine. Always heard it gets great mileage. I had a Blazer with a 350 in it, I got aroung 10 mpg, my friends 6.2 diesel got around 28 mpg.
Had problems with glowplugs, and fuel pump push rods breaking.
If a diesel breaks it's gonna cost you $$$$ to fix it. But most diesels will run forever. The 6.2 isn't know for power, but you can add on a Banks and get a little more out of it. Some trucks come stock with a turbo. Fuel filters and air filters are considerably more expensive, and normally they take more oil to service.
For wheelin I think the diesel is the way to go, will idle all day, plenty of toque, works excellent in off camber situations, and won't break the bank for fuel......:skull:
