Lower links in a 4 link. Main body is 2"OD .25 wall DOM. Ends are 1.5 OD .25 DOM, to match the Avalanche tube adapters for my heims. I was told they'd sleeve together. Running about 4" overlap with 4 rosettes per end. Almost seems like I won't need them if I ever get them together! I measured about .004" interference fit, tried greasing the small tubes, heating with a torch, now I have the small stuff in the freezer and will heat the large tube with a torch.
Is this gonna work without a press? Don't have one of those...
About to give the guy who told me this will work a couple :mad3:  :flipoff:

.004 sounds like WAAAAY too much... Got access to a lathe?

Nope, unless a brake lathe counts :rasta:
I wouldn't be against just trimming with a grinder a bit though, 4 plug welds and a fillet weld at the end shouldn't know the difference right? It might be only a .003 interference, but it's big hammer tight.
edit: just checked the pieces in the freezer, looks like down to .0015" interference now, time to get rude with the deadblow
another edit: NOPE!!:mad3: :mad3: :mad3: screw it, I'm goin home

.004 is quite a bit for a FOUR INCH interference fit . Your probably going to have to turn em maybe you'll get lucky.
good luck weldpro

1.75" with 120 wall works great, if not call me at Avalanche Denver and I will give you some more options. Clifton:jeep:

Thanks Clifton, I got them together with some massaging of the OD of the small tube and about 10 tons on the press :rasta:
Good news is it looks like my no-mockup-with-cheap-tube 4 link is gonna work! No binding anywhere, good angles, bla bla bla...
I hate wasting expensive metal.
