Just looking for more ways to spend money..yeah yeah I know its a d30 but im a friggin newbie anyways...
I was looking in an old JP mag that had an article on a M.O.R.E. steering correction kit for YJs with SOAs. The kit used a bracket that bolted onto the passenger side knuckle to raise the tie rod and put the drag link above the springs.
Is there any reason why a similar or the same kit wouldn't work on a TJ? I'm tempted to think a wrangler d30 is a wrangler d30 as far as the knuckles are concerned so the bracket should fit. Looking at my TJ it seems that there (might) be a problem with the passenger side sway bar bracket hitting the tie rod but the drag link looks like it would clear the spring.
I know Rusty and a few others make a similar setup for the TJ but they dont seem to get the height of the YJ kit.

We are currently testing a new kit we build that will allow for full Hi-Steer on any YJ,TJ or XJ dana30. I will post some pictures as soon as I can. Email me with any questions.

Goferit offroad sells a bushing to flip the tie-rod to the top of the knuckle. Drill out the taper in the knuckle, install the tapered bushing, and bolt the tie rod on the top instead of the bottom. It does interfere with the sway bar bracket on the pass side, just move it a bit.
I've heard you can use the drag link from a RH drive TJ and do the same to the pass side knuckle if you want.
Go peruse through M.O.R.E.s website. You'd be amazed what you'll find.

It's either www.downeastoffroad.com or www.essentiallyoffroad.com that makes a high stear kit for TJ's
I just saw it, but dont remember which one.
Anyhow its like $750 bucks for the whole kit.
The biggest thing that I saw was that it bolts to the top 2 bolts that hold on your stub shaft. It has a U looking thingy that hooks to the high rise part.
It looks like we could manufacture it without too much trouble. but It might be easier just to buy the parts you cant build.
Or if you have lots of cash to dump into a 30 buy the kit.

Is the kit your talking about a "TRUE" HiSteer or is it just crossover steering? I am very interested because I can not find a Hi Steer kit anywhere for a Dana30. That why we're building ours, it is True Hi Steer. The tierod and draglink will be at the very top of the diff.

The M.O.R.E. kit is not a "true" HiSteer but just crossover steering as you thought. The main thing its accomplishing is getting the drag link and tie-rod on the same plane to address bumpsteer. Regardless at $750?--I guess they could call it cost for research and developement--it's too steep for me or my d30. I ran across another link for a TJ steering conversion a few days ago that ran over $800. Considering it's for a d30 I wold hate to dump that kind of money into it.
Before reading the JP article I was contemplating just beefing up my steering by doing a ZJ conversion. I'm already looking at some major $$$ in upgrades with my tax return but hate to say I havn't thought much about steering. I guess a lift, tires, atlas, gears and lockers have blinded me somewhat.
I would still be interested in seeing your kit 1TrickYJ.
