OK I finally broke down and bought a 62 Scout 80 that I have been eyeing for about 6 months now. It is a 152 4 cyl with a 3 speed an dual stick transfer case. It is in rough condition but for $300 its worth it. Spent 2 hours working on it and got it running but I have a problem. The problem is that the po said he worked on the tranny. I don't know exactly what he did but now neither reverse or first gear work. I suspect that maybe there is a problem with a linkage or something. Any input would be helpful. :flipoff2:

Maybe your clutch isn't releasing all the way. That hydraulic clutch setup in the Scout 80s is a failure prone pain in the ass. If the tranny IS scewed up, then another T90 will be easy and cheap to locate.

I drove it around the block in 2nd gear but I have to work the clutch to keep it moving so I don't think that the clutch isn't releasing. If it was it would just die when put in gear right? Thanks for the input I plan on pulling the trans tomorrow or over the holiday. :flipoff2:
