I am needing to get a different motor put in my YJ before winter and I just acquired a 3.1fi out of an olds sedan. I was just wondering if there is a GM tranny that this will bolt to and have it turned the right direction for my Jeep? I saw one of the Buggy's at Hot Springs this weekend had a supercharged 3.8 in his but if I remeber right a 3.8 has the same bellhousing pattern as a SBC so it could have just had a th350 in it. So if anyone knows of a way to make this work let me know, I don't care if it is a stick or auto.

I know it's not a 350 but I saw a complete 258 out of a CJ7 on the Rockcrawlers 4x4 website, maybe it could be a cheaper fix.

if the 3.1 is a 60* chevy v6 like i think it is, it'll bolt up to an AX15 with a certain jeep bellhousing...check http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=1933.0

the supercharged 3.8(3800) also has a 60* bellhousing pattern though it's a 90* v6. the other 3.8(buick 231 from the 70s and 80s) had a BOP bellhousing that can be made to work with a chevy tranny with a $50 adapter
