Where is the secondary vin # located on a 83 K30 Crew Cab? Was told its on the frame near steering box, don't see it there. Any help would be great.

Try a little further back on the frame.... somewhere between the front tire and the middle of the cab.

It was there on a '72 I had. Haven't made a point to check any of my newer junk though.

i trashed a 85 2wd chevy, ripped the cab off and found one. it was on the top of the frame back of the cab pass side. i dont know how yould see it if the cab was there or the frame was dirty. hope it helps

Found it, passenger side on top of frame rail between the 1st and 2nd bed mounting holes.
