I think the title explains it all. I have several questions that I need help with and hope someone can answer them. A little history on what I want to accomplish. I have a 2001 GMC Sierra Z71 Extended Cab Pick-up 5.3 Auto. I want to raise both the suspension and body, I want to change the gear ratio to 4:56-1 and run a 35 inch tire. Ok with that being said I have access to a 1999 Chevy Z71 Suspension and Body Lift. What are the changes to the body and suspension between 99 and 01? Will either and or both work on my truck? If not can they be modified to fit? I want a truck that I can take hunting in the winter and also be able to use every day. With that in mind thank you in advance for any and all help.

don't waste your time money or effort on the IFS. swap a solid axle in it, you'll save yourself heartache and money in the long run.

i dont think there is any difference in the 99-01....
But i agree, if you are going to spend the time to pull the lift of the other truck, and put it on yours, straight axle the pig and be done with it.

you'll need 6 inches to be able to run the 35"s.
Unless the lift you are yanking is only a 4" you won't need the body lift. Plus body lifts are no good and :rainbow:
Be prepared to replace pitman & idler arms pretty regularly. An make sure you have plenty of spare tie rods if you wheel it.
It is a tall order, but not really all that hard to do a straight axle swap to ditch the IFS is you are really building this things to wheel. If you are just working on lifting your daily driver to look better on the road, stick with the IFS and save some coin for a dedicated wheeler, and use your 01' for tow duty.
And to answer your question the 99 and '01 have identical underpinnings.

I have an IFS chevy and its lifted with a suspension and body lift with 35s. I have been through one set of hubs but that is it so far. I wheel it but very lightly...i mean..i baby it. Dont plan on any serisous wheeling. Im in the process of working on a build up for an older SFA truck if that tells you anything. Try gmfullsize.com/forum for some more info, this isnt really the place for that kinda question.
