I did do a search on this.
I am wondering if anyone out there has done a home grown rear disk break conversion on a Toyota axel. If so what did you use?

If the axles is under a Zuk what the hell are you doing that requires even better brakes  Only advantage I can see is dropping some weight, but the weight is already down low helping your CG. The Toy drums hold good backing down hills unlike the stock units.

Not everyone does only ROCK. I am sure he plays in the mud , and want the benifit of not washing his drums out every run.
Basically I would pick up soem chevy callipers, a non-composite disc, and a weld on bracket. Keep the parts cheep. Chevy calliper off an 80's Monte Carlo are a dine a dozen. No need to pay big bucks for swap kits. Just a waste of money.
Good luck:D

ROKTOY, aka JayK, pioneered the disc swap for Toys. His website has all the info you need. Why don't you do a search on the Toy board:rolleyes:

Well the reason I am doing the conversion is because I need new drums. I went to my local parts dealer and they said the drums are $80.00 a peice. Unless I am mistaken I mine as well take the $$ I would use to buy those and do the conversion. Anyone agree?

If you price out a rebuild on drums and disc. You will find it to be cheaper with discs. Go with cheap, easy to replace components.

My "search" of the Toy section came up with this:

As well as a # of other threads. I posted this to your thread in the toy forum as well. :D

what master cylinder are you going run? i'm sure by the time you have 4 wheel disks on the yota axles the sami m.c. won't have much peddle. it's a very simple swap though. instead of removing the bearings to get the backing plate off you can use a sawzall and just cut it off. :D
