Just did my kingpins on the D60 as per Billa Vista's article on the tech section here on Pirate : http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/PR-Kingpin/index.html

I couldn't find any 7/8" hex stock to make the giant allen key (because the local steel place would only sell me a 20ft length = $$). :shaking:

I went to a local tool store and picked one of these 3/4" drive hex bit sockets in 7/8's bit size for about $40.

I used a 4' extension pipe on my 3/4" slider bar and the kingpin came off no problem. Didn't even have to use heat, just a couple of gentle tugs and both kingpins came off nicely. The job went much easier than I expect. No more death wobble now. :D

I just thought the Armstrong tool # might help someone out there who is planning on doing their kingpins.

we usually use a long lugnut with a socket, never had many problems with this setup either

While on the subject, napa has the 7/8's allen wrench for $14. Luckily I work 5 minutes from the NAPA heavy truck parts distributer :D

I've seen the 7/8's allen wrenches at Orchard Hardware and Supply(OSH).Just another option anyway.

I was in OSH (Orchard Supply Hardware) in Pismo the other day and they had 7/8 allen wrenches in stock. I was shocked. $22 it was about 10 inches long.
