I'm trying to put together a big trip to go on during winter break. I'm looking into either Las Cruces or Hot Springs. My sister lives in Arkansas and that would give me a chance to visit her family and a free place to stay a night or two. I'm just wondering what the weather will be like. I've only seen snow once, and living in North Mexico it rarely gets below freezing. It's about 85 degrees out right now.
Just wanting to know if it is going to be freezing ass cold and covered in snow.

It will be colder than what you are used to. Don't get a lot of snow. It will get cold, but Dec-Jan typically will get down to the 20's at night and creep up to 40-50 in the day.
Mike said you were coming up this way for turkey day?
Look me up if you make it up here.

Yeah I should be there some time thursday.
Is there any kind of camping at Hot Springs or just hotels?

Yes there is camping, I think they have electric but no water. The hotels are very close to the campground so most people cram into the hotels.
Cool, Mike has my # we'll have to go grab a beer sometime.

Lots of hotelson every level, from shitty to resorts.
We usually stay at the Quality Inn. (501) 624-3321
Its closest to the park, about a 10 minute drive.
Plus they have a pretty large parking area, so trailers arent a problem.
There are more hotels as you go farther into town including places along the lake and near the actual hot springs.

Ther is also the KOA campgrounds about 2 or 3 miles from the park. You can check out their site Superlift Offroad Park in Hot Springs (orvpark.com) for a complete rundown of whats there and whats going on.

The campground within the ORP has water and electric hookups.
