chevy guys kill me when i say i have a ford dana 60 in the front of my 1978 chevy but look at the strength and the high pinion when your running 42" tires

but the a problem came up even with the high pinion, the driveshaft was still steep on angle so a dodge np-203 doubler was put in place

this fixed the problem for a short time untill 500 foot pounds of torque was coming out of the 468 big block so 1410 u-joints were put in place

so after figuring out all the drive shaft problems i went out 4x4ing

a problem arose after bein stuck in the mud i forgot the dam shifters on the t-cases

anybody else done this or am i the only one?

i need pics or some solution to fix this i am getting sick of crawling under my truck with a pry bar in the mud :mad3:

I have an idea... before you go "4x4ing" again why don't you buy some doubler shifters?

Brand loyalty stops at the trailhead. After that, it's about who can get it. I personally have Dodge and Ford parts going into my Chevy.

yes if anyone made a kit already done for a ford transfer case in a chevy truck with a dodge doubler in between i would have bought it by now

i need ideas because its all pretty tight in there right now

putting ford and dodge stuff in your chevy?

who gives a shit about who made the parts? There is a Dodge Dana 60 going under the front of my GMC...but they were all made by Dana Spicer anyway, so it is a moot point!

ORD sells a 3 stick shifter for a doubler like yours.

i have asked them many a time and the only one they sell is one for a chevy transfer case the ford is on the other side

steve's 87' chevy has a ford diff in it and a one of a kind shifter kit for it and he wasn't gonna give me pics for it but if anyone does have pics for it send it to me

remember dodge and chevy r on the passenger side and ford is on the drivers side so i am stumped at this point unless i break out the tube bender but if there is a kit made or someone must have an idea

When you talk about Ford, Chevy or Dodge you are talking application, not brand name.
Dana is the brand name, just like New Process.
It seems in this case the brand loyalty is to Dana not chevy.

What with you being a welder and fabricator, I thought you would be able to figure this out.:shaking:

Is there a question in that?

step one: buy a red star

step two: post a pic of the area in question

step three: ask an intelligent question..

if you use the search feature and look in other forums most any question that you may have about anything rig related will be answerd, or at least point you in the right direction. the information avail on this board is pricless and almost impossible to find anywhere else... buy a star and support it. just my .02

i made my own doubler that clocks both cases up so nothing hangs lower that my t400s pan. that put my 203 shifter exactly on the bottom. so i found a cable shifter that klune-v sells. they dont normally sell it without the actual klune v, but if u ask nice they will do it. cost me $100 plus shipping. its way nice, came with a mounting bracket for the shifter. it works so smooth, it even stands up to the heavy pushing i some times have to show it to get the range box to shift gears. i put a skidplate under it all and have never had a prob. as far as opperating my twin sticked 205, i had to fab a funky lever system. its to hard to explain how it mounts and pivots, so i wont. maybe some day ill take some pics of it. :smokin:

go to a local heavy truck parts store buy a heavy pto cable for a dump truck there not much money and set it up however you want. it doesn't mater where your cases are clocked
