hello ya'll.
just finished my SOA, but now i'm looking to get that damn hi lift out of my interior and onto the exterior. Not really looking to get a rack right now, so I was wondering what options I had. I was eyeing matt's hi lift rack thing off the spare tire holder. Does that replace the whole spare tire mount? I have a dent in the wall that doesn't let the mount bolt onto all four points. I'm gonna try and pull it out but I'm afraid it might decrease the integrity and not support the weight of the jack and a full size spare.

Any thoughts?

Front bumper, rear bumper, roof rack, that gay little wing that is over the back doors.

Ya, all those places are possibilities. Just a little FYI. I had my first high lift strapped to my bumper carrier when I did my first trip up to Alaska. Big mistake! It completely ruined it. I would have had to get the rebuild kit and completely sand blast it to make it useable again. Personally if I was you I would figure a way to mount it inside up out of the way. Ive been thinking about mounting mine to the passenger side wall. At an angle with the "top" end of the high lift down by the rear passenger door/seat and the "bottom" of the high lift at the top rear corner just inside the small rear door. And really it should only need one bracket at the top rear corner. The other end can just sit there. Just a thought.

yeah, i considered the bumpers but i may bump something too hard and don't want the jack to get damaged. not to mention that my front bumper is already taken off thanks to a big puddle of mud/quicksand. i like that that indoor place of it though steve. i might have to look into it, is that where you put yours?

Well right now I just have mine sitting in the back. But it’s loose so if I ever rolled over I would probably get killed from all my recovery gear flopping around. I should have a mount within the next couple months.
