I am doing a disk brake swap on a 75 EB D44. I have gotten the ch**y spindles and have found some rotors and hub for a 76-77 EB and I am wondering if they will work on the ch**y spindles. I would think they would the only difference I can see between the ch**y spindle and the old drum spindle is that the ch**y one is long.

So is my thinking correct? I am hoping I can still use ch**y calipers for the swap because I have the backing plates. Will all this work?

Any help would be great!!

Thanks

Yes, you've got the right parts (Ford hub/rotor, Chevy spindle, caliper, and bracket). The Ford and Chev wheel bearings are the same, so use whichever.

You can re-use the Ford stub shaft, but since the GM spindle is a bit longer you won't be able to get the snap ring onto the end of the shaft. Two ways to fix this: swap in Chevy stub shafts, or thread a bolt and fender washer into the end of the Ford shaft (they should have a threaded hole in the end). This keeps the shaft sealed properly against the backside of the spindle, so mud & water don't sneak in.

Good luck,
Chris (thinks Chevy is just a word like any other...)

Thanks for the info. In all the brake swaps that I have read none of them have said anything about the snap ring not fitting on!! Thanks it is good to know these things!!
