Troy....they said you were on this list.
I'm interested in your interpretation of the Nissan transfercase
and running it as a second case in the Toy.

Article also said that you used a bearing to feed the driveshaft thru a crossmember. Do you have pics of this mod?

I'm preparing to add a second divorced case behind my 231 unit on a stretched Cherokee (XJ) platform. Final wheelbase will be around 132". I need the information on the front driveshaft to keep it out of bind with the first Tcase.

I'm running a high pinion Dana44 up front, so driveline angle should be an issue I can overcome.

Thanks for any info, and please feel free to email me if this has been covered in the past.

he is not on the list, call him 530.333.2658, he is swapping out the nissaan for his own slo-motion toy cases.

In this article it says that he has a 3/4 setup but from this pic it apears to be a waggy spring set up. Am I correct in this thinking or do I have my terms mixed up????

It's definatley a 3/4 eliptical. You can see the goofy leaf drooping in that pic.

Well thanks guys. I guess it is time for me to go do some more searching and get my terms refined. I guess I always thought a 3/4 setup was more like Lance's Toy.

HI HO, HI HO
I's off to Search I go

Here is WHY they are called what they are called:

A full elipse/ellpitic would be what? A full circle, correct?
so a regular leaf spring would be 1/2 elliptic, since it's half of a circle.
My setup is basically half of a leaf spring, so it would be 1/4 elliptic
A buggy leaf setup is a leaf spring with half of another spring on it, so that makes 3/4 elliptic. :p

Look at that after a 1/2 hour of searching and reading some great post I see that Lance puts the answer right infront of my nose. And of course after I read the answer I realize that I must have been pulling the biggest brain fart ever to post my first question. Work has got my mind way to screwed up. Thanks alot guys for setting me straight.

I don't care what your mom's say, you guys are allright. :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

I've seen the offroad article. It's what led me to believe he was on Pirates...I was shootin' for more detailed pics of that crossmember. I've had time to sit down and draw up the config....but I'll give him a shout to confirm my finds.

Thanks to all who responded.
