I secured my front HP D60 and rear D60 for a SAS. There out of a 79' F350. I paid $00.00 for them! :D

I will be posting pics as I make progress. Gonna rebuild the Front first. Air locker or E-locker if is available. and 4.56. Nothing is set in stone.

You should have tried to get him to come down on the price some :flipoff2: great find man! Is the rear D60 30 spline? mine is. If yours is then the front 60 should be the stronger axle of the two.

Don't know what it is yet. Weather is $hitty today in NY. I was working in the rain this morning. I stripped them down and put the steam geny to them. There now bare rears and squeeky clean! Tossed the old leafs and shocks. Saved the sway bars and all hardware.

Good score!!! I just got another Dana 60 from a 79 Dodge for $85. Then I found a housing for a HP 60 from an 01, hoping I can swap the center sections, and then put it in my 97.

If they are the stock F350 axles it will be. I never understood why the 2wd F350 got the d70 and the 4x4 got stuck with the smaller 60?

Those drums are stronger than you may think. You also probably missed the chain going from the bucket to the front of the truck. :smokin:

I know first hand that on a Chevy dana 60 you have to grind the calipers down to make the rims fit, unless you go with a 2 3/4" backspacing you dont have to grind at all. But I am not sure on the fords.
In your pics the calipers look different. Not as tall as the chevy ones, so you might get lucky.
Get a rim and see..

to get 15s to fit with the ford dual piston calipers you have to grind them scary thin seen it done on my buddies offroad only rig but wouldn't recomend it.

yeah my buddy decided to step up to 17s (or 16s) since the 15s dont fit the ford dual pistons very well.
