I have a 350 SBC with a TH350 behind it that I am about to swap into my Jeep. I was just wondering what everybody does to make sure the engines are placed correctly. As of now I was just planning on putting it in there with the tranny bolted to it and building the mounts to make the output shaft as close to center as possible and the engine as close to the radiator as possible. I am going ot try and keep the mechanical fan, but was wondering how much more driveshaft I could get if I went electric. Any advice from people who have swapped before?

Also, I was just planning on building the straight forward L-bracket mounts for the motor. Has anyone had any bad experience with these types of mounts? If so, I also have the ability to make the tubing style with the urethane bushings around the bolt in the mount.

Thanks for any suggestions.

WHEN I DID THE SWAP IN MY CRUZAH I MOUNTED THE MOTOR WITH FAN ABOUT 1.5" AWAY FROM THE RADIATOR.......AS FOR PAN CLEARANCE I PUT THE OIL PAN ABOUT 1" BELOW THE FRAME RAIL....... THEN I WENT TO THE TCASE AND PUT IT ABOVE THE FRAME RAIL...OH YEAH I HAVE A 205 ROTATED 30 DEGREES TO BECOME TOTALLY FLAT......THEN I WORRIED ABOUT DRIVELINES....HAD THEM IN MIND WHEN SETTING IT UP......

IT REALLTY DOESNT MATTER WHERE IT GOES......JUST OPINION OF CLEARANCES AND CENTER OF GRAVITY......
