So my question is who has done it? What do you guys think would be smarter in the long run, put a dana 300 in without a flip kit and find a passanger side drop front 44 and just get my exhaust moved to the other side, or is there more to it then just moving my exhaust to the other side? Or should I do a a drivers drop 44 and do a flip kit and figure out my own linkage which i will have to do either way because noone makes it for an xj.

search for Slagburn in this forum, he put a d300 behind a aw4, maybe a couple months back.

My brother (mountaineermac) has a 300 in his cherokee with the 4:1 and flip kit and HD rear output shaft. IMO it would be ALOT easier in the long run to just flip the 300 and clock it up than trying to convert it to a passenger side drop. If you really want to take this route then I believe Dave (35xj) was going to or has done this on his cherokee.

Here are some pics of the d300 in his cherokee: http://community.webshots.com/scripts/editPhotos.fcgi?action=viewall&albumID=87132264

Small Hijack- If you go this way- depending what you want- I've got a 4/1 HD rear output 300 with a clocking ring in the classifieds. I make a ring specifically for clocking a flipped 300 using all 6 bolts etc and could include this ring with the t-case.

Now back to your normal programming:)
