As most of you know I have a TPI 383 stroker. It's the speed density set-up out of a 91 Camaro. I have the Edelbrock heads (alum)... factory dist and coil

My questions are what type of plugs are you guys running and what gap should I run??

the factory book for the camaro calls for the Delco R45ST for the cast heads and FR5LS for the alum heads- both with a gap of .035.... I've been running the R45ST becuse the others were out of stock and I didn't have time to get them somewhere else. What's the difference between the two?? ado the alum ones run at a diff temp or somthing??

TIA,

BTT Well it seems that no one wants to share. You might go over to http://www.f-body.org and ask there. I used to visit there all the time when I had my Impala SS. They have some real tech heads over there!!! Also on the SS board a few of the guys had bought 383's from http://www.agostino-racing.com/home.html these guys know their shit!! Anyone that makes a fat old Impala SS run a Best of: 1.52 60' 10.75 @ 125.9 MPH in the 1/4 gets my thumbs up!! :D

I'll play. I've got a carb'd SBC running an MSD6AL ignition with a Malory Unilite distributor. I am running NGK's with the "V-Groove" gimick feature at 49 thousandths.

49 thous was wider than stock and just so happened to be the thickness of a couple of blades of my feeler gauge stuck together.

Motor runs good. my 2 cents.

I run a SD TPI setup on my 406 but NOT aluminum headed.............035" gap sounds too close but did you check the Vette specs for that year, should be the same. A good source to also try is www.thirdgen.org - then go to the TPI board and post this question there - LOTS of good techies there.

Thanks Blazzin!! That board looks like its got some pretty sharp guys on it.... It might be just the ticket for me to finally get my motor to 100% after the 2 (+ or -) years I've been trying...

Thanks again...
