Why not?

plenty of people run them on 15x8s. i can get the 15x7s really cheap and the tsls are used. i want to do weld on bead locks on the 15x7s later on down the road.

the 38s will see very little road time, only in the snow.

if you are going to beadlock them then yes... until then you run the risk of blowing a bead very easily. its not a real show stopper since its not a highway driver. your truck is so light too so unless you are slamming it at a really low psi you will be fine. a friend of with 35x1250 runs 10psi and plays all day in sand and mud - only problem is once in a while sand will get in the bead and he gets a slow leak. so then he has to take off the tire and clean and then go through the hassell of getting it reseated.

i know many will disagree with me - but since you are going to run beadlocks i say go for it. im planning on using my 16.5 x 8.25 for my 38 x 12.50 TSLs.

why would he run the risk of blowing a bead very easily? the narrow wheel will actually better help to squeeze the tire inward, making it harder to blow the bead than on a wider wheel.

i am running 38x12.5 tsl/sx on a 16.5 x 6.75 rim right now. i went all summer without beadlocks, running at 8 psi and didnt loose a bead once. i will be going with some rockstomper weld on beadlock kits this winter tho. hoping to get my wheel out to almost 9" wide. run it, it works fine.

87's right, you'll be fine. I ran 12.5's on a 7 inch rim for a year or so without bead locks. Hell, that's why I ran a narrow rim 'cause I couldn't afford bead locks at the time. Buch has no idea what he is talking about.

BTT

I got the rims the other day, cleaned them up, and I'm getting the tires this weekend.

thanks

I ran 7" wheels for over a year and never had any problems. The reason I went to 8" is because the backspacing sucked on the 7's. Now I don't need spacers.
