more fj45 wagon reproduction parts!!!!!! that's right.

over the last couple of days i have been talking to a friend of mine, terry H., in CO. he has had a wagon in the "restoration" stage for a few years now, and has EVERYTHING except a battery, exhaust or the front marker lights in the bib.
anyways, he is going to be casting new mudflaps for the LVs. they should be available in about 3 months. cost should be around $140-160 per set of 4.
also, he will be reproducing the rectangular door hinge gaskets where the hinge enters the body. we think it takes 16 per vehicle. these will be cast from good existing gaskets and should end up between $50-70 for a complete set of 16.
terry is not on the board yet, but will be posting this stuff on the LCML. he bought a lot of his parts from rick D. including a mint REAR BUMPER and CAPS!!!!! he is willing to let "us" use these for reproduction work. now we just habe to figure out who's willing to invest the time and effort into this project. i'm starting to run out of time between family obligations, work, household, fj45 registry, cruisers,......... so i'm looking for some help from you guys on this one. terry is willing to work with us and help in any way he can. a cruiserhead to the core, that's for sure.
you can get a hold of him thru me or by contacting him directly at the55guy@earthlink.net but beware, he's out in the CO boonies and only has dial-up internet right now, will be switching to wireless hopefully someday soon.
also, he has decided to sell his wagon along with all the parts, and i mean ALL THE PARTS including 2 sets of tail lights, PTO with extra parts, 6 hubcaps; all early; 4 solid to run with drive flanges on the front axle, 2 open face to run with hubs on the front, new door panels, new hedliner,.......you gt the point. i should probably start a different thread for the sale of the LV.
either way, let's get some input on this.

I"M STOKED!!!!!!!!! :grinpimp:

Damn Georg, this sounds like some sort of reverse "conflict of interest" thing. Only your conflicting with your own sale!!! Sounds like more good things in store for the LV restorer types.

I will take a set of hub caps, 2 solid, and 2 open. I can Fedex cash in the am.
I have no need for another fj45lv, but it sounds like a nice package. The guy may not be selling the hubcaps without the whole truck, let me know. What kind of money for the whole deal?

he WILL OT sell the stuff seperate. basically, the rig is completely dis-assembled. body is on the frame, but down to bare metal and doors are off and completely stripped. the body needs some work (rust replacement) but he has some panels and parts to replace the "bad" stuff.
he's looking to sell it as a package deal to somebody who will restore it back to stock. it's very complete, maybe even more so that landpimps. there's a good home for it out there somewhere.
terry's LV is not really competition for mine, although the timing is odd. his needs a full resto to bring it back to stock, mine is ready to go on any roadtrip and do some wheeling while you're at it.

I am a little confused, he is selling his 45LV but will be repoducing 45LV parts?

and I am ALL over the mud flaps and door rubber thingies. Did he have a set of flaps or did he borrow the only set that I know of? I know they were loaned out at some point to make repo's, I was also offerend them............but was afraid something would happen to them.........and hell I am too busy to ever get something like that repo'd. the flaps are SO SO cool....................GIFU :)

might take 18, I think there are some on the tailgate(or maybe not)

Was looking at a fj60 wtih ambulance doors.........noticed the hinge rubber looked not to much different than a 45LV........

I would love to have another but my wife is already about to kick me out! :D

What stage is the mudflaps and the hinge gaskets? Does he have a place to do the work?

I would be willing to step up and take the ball if need be. My plan is to have cmpletely stock rig when done. I am working (slowly) on getting someone to reproduce the door surround gaskets and the upper tailgate surround gaskets.

Let me know where you want to go with it.

thanks in advance to you also marc!!!!
i think terry has a handle on the casting, although it would be great if you could contact him via e-mail directly. sometimes it just does'nt pay to have a "middleman".

also, we need somebody to reproduce FJ45swb window gaskets. just got an e-mail from erik C. (not eric C.) asking about help with this venture. he has a set of prestine gaskets to use for a mold, and most of the shorty guys need them. gotta love the internet and sites like this!!!!!!! i needed something to make me feel better today.(flamesuit on, fawkers)

I have a couple of contacts to try and followup on but really gonna have to wait till after the holidays.. I'll take on the 45 swb gasket project just need to know where to send em.
Sorry for the Non-hardcore post!

While we are on the subject of rubber parts for the LV's I am looking for a oval grommet that goes on the driver and passanger doors.

I really only need one good one to send to the rubber fabricator to make a mold from. I will send it back after he is done with it.

Does anyone have pieces or parts of the original floor mat that was on the front and back seat floors. I have a partial one from the back seat of mine. But, it would be sweet if someone had them complete. The material that was used was a black pyramid rubber.

Sorry for the horrible pic. It's the week for electronic stuff to go. 1st was the modem next was the driver mirror on my car and then the camera is dying. :mad3:

I got one(that I can send). They are plastic not rubber. I have used fj60 rubber plugs(from the B piller), they actaully work pretty good.

I bet the mats is the same stuff used on the running board of early 40/45's

I have the plastic grommets too. They are old and brittle, but not deformed.

I still have my original floor mats. They sat in the wagon from 1977 to 1999 when I bought. They are on the brittle side but are fairly intact.

66LV-Could you take some photos of the floor mats and send them to me or post them up? And if you decide you don't want them let me know. I could use them for patterns.

Thanks.............
