Hey guys,
I have been tearing down my 4.8 Vortec to make sure it's up to par for the swap into me JEEP YJ. Anyway when doing so I found that every second roller lifter had a spring that would work and then the next one would not! It seem that the lifters on the intake side are the ones that have give and the lifters on the exhaust side seem to be fixed. It's just wierd that every second one would be shot and that it was not suppose to be that way.
So my question is, can anyone tell me if this is the way they are suppose to be or do I have **** lifters that need to be replaced or rebuilt. It looks like I can take them apart and clean them to see if I can get them working again.
I hope I've made sense of this and any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Jay
