What torque Should I torque the 4 bolts that hold the Disk brake bracket onto the axle to?

1/2'' fine thread bolt --------about 60-70 lbs easily, maybe put a drop or two of loctite on it also.

Torque it down, if the threads strip, put a nut on the backside of it. My cheap HF that was $14 does an easy 120ft lbs and they didn't strip. I don't want my brakes coming off. :D

KWTMECH is way under. i think a 1/2" fine thread grade 8 or so bolt should be torqued to about 120. should be fine.

Just because they did not strip, does not mean they are properly tightened. :shaking:
Once a bolt exceeds its proper torque value, it will begin to stretch, causing a loss of clamping force, not a gain.

The best thing to do on the disc brake bracket bolts is to torque them to a proper torque spec (sorry, don't have my torque spec table with me), then weld the brackets directly to the housing. I would only trust the bolts as a back up to the welds.

The dry torque for a coarse thread 1/2" grade 8 bolt is 119 foot-pounds. For fine threads increase the coarse torque rating by 9 %. About 130 ft.-lbs. for a fine thread bolt. If the bolt is lubricated you should decrease the torque by as much as 40 % depending on the lube.
