my friend has a '90 2wd 4.0 auto o/d and he needs to put a 231 on it. I haven't gotten to look at it but I need to know if the right stuff is there and the tail housing just needs to be taken off? or do I need a whole 4wd trans for it? and if that's the case who's got one? :D e-mail or pm me cause I'll forget to look here again...thanks.

Send Nailhead a PM or an email he has an auto tranny sitting under his car port. Sounds like it will work for you if he's getting rid of it :D

You will need a new tailhousing and output shaft. make sure to look and see what spline the 231 is the 90 aw-4 will be 21.
