AXLES? WHAT ARE THEY AND YES I DID A SEARCH. I KNOW IT'S A 44 UP FRONT. IS IT A 20 OR 44 IN THE REAR ('86)? AND WHAT IS THE WIDTH OF BOTH.:confused: :confused: :beer:

if the rear cover is round its a heavy duty AMC20, if its not round its a dana 44 ( they changed right around the late 80ish)

no differnece both are good axles, in this application.

approx 61" front, and 59" inch rear.

6 lug disk rear, drivers front pumplin, centered rear.

probable gear ratios are 2.72 ( V8 non trailer package) 3.31 ( trailer tow package V8)

there are other ratios available, these are the only 2 ive found in 80 or newer Wags though.
